West Crawford Creek Tributary

Culvert Removal
Completed in 2000

Issue:

West Crawford Creek tributary is a small system running along the West side of the backfield. An 18" culvert had been placed in the stream system years ago to allow large equipment and vehicles to pass from one side of the property to another. The culvert was a tad too small for large seasonal flows that happened periodically and would continue to get clogged and create problems for fish mobility and usage of the upstream habitat.

Plan:

Remove the culvert, and allow the stream system to flow freely giving greater mobility to the fish and salmonids both up and downstream. Place spawning gravel's in the streambed and along the banks of the tributary for potential distribution throughout the system, while continuing to allow some vehicle movement across the property and stream system in the dry months.
